The Therapydia Difference
Our Team
Robert Lucente, PT, DPT, OCS, COMT
Robert earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Combined Sciences from Santa Clara University (SCU) in 2005. While attending SCU he worked as a student athletic trainer in the sports medicine department where he gained his first exposure to rehabilitating orthopedic and sport injuries. This experience inspired him to pursue a career in physical therapy so he could expand his rehabilitation skills beyond athletics to the whole community.
Aaron Garcia
Aaron has worked in a multitude of fields, including Retail Banking, Environmental Non-Profits and now healthcare! With 10+ years of patient/customer facing positions, he has proved he thrives in any customer service position. Motivated by wanting to make a difference, Aaron loves participating in community related activities from garbage cleanups, homeless encampment cleanups, and endangered species rescues! During his free time, Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife, step-son and their corgi named Hiccup!
Tony Torrez, PT, DPT
Tony found his passion for physical therapy following the end of his Marine Corps career as he wanted to continue his public service with a focus into the healing arts, and after being introduced to Massage Therapy through his mother, his wife noticed his excitement when working with more acutely injured patients. He received his B.S. in Kinesiology at Notre Dame de Namur University, and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Since his graduation, he has been working with a wide variety of orthopedic injuries with a focus on integrating his massage therapy and physical therapy skills as a Manual Therapist, and has been building his expertise in myofascial decompression and pelvic health therapy. He wants to develop his skills in order to finish his Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) requirements, and earn his Manual Therapy Certification (MTC), his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and Orthopedic Specialist Certification (OCS) to better integrate a more holistic and in-depth approach to healing, and better educate his clients within all stages of athleticism from dormant to professional status to prevent reinjury. When he is not refining his skills or running clinics, he likes to partake in deep conversations, venture to the beach, watch indie films, play video games, and visit microbreweries/local eateries with his wife.
Michael Watt
Michael graduated this year with a Bachelor’s in Public Health. After studying public health and working different positions within healthcare, Michael realized how much he enjoys helping others! He models his work ethic after the saying, “Never underestimate the difference you can make in the lives of others”. Michael grew up in the Bay Area and enjoys rooting for the San Francisco 49ers and Giants during his free time. He also loves dogs as he grew up with 6 in the house!
Stephany Ju PT, DPT
Stephany has always had a passion for helping others, and started pursuing a career in physical therapy after seeing her mom requiring rehab services after a work injury. She received her B.S. in Human Development at UC Davis (go Aggies!) and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Samuel Merritt University. What really drew her to Therapydia were their core values of compassion, satisfaction, trust and growth all which resonated closely with her own personal values. She believes in not only identifying impairments, but also treating the patient as a whole. She is dedicated to providing quality one-on-one care to help patient’s restore function and quality of life, to get them back to doing the things they love to do. She uses a mix of techniques and creates a plan of care that is catered to each individual. As a lifelong learner, she plans to take continuing education courses and stay up to date with the most recent evidence based practice to provide to patients. Her current hobbies include hiking through the Santa Cruz redwoods, biking with her fiancė, smothering her kitten Jack with endless kisses, being an expert couch potato and discovering all the good eats in the Bay.
Christina Cherng PT, DPT
Christina earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from California State University (CSU) of Sacramento, where she focused on early-intervention and rehabilitation for the pediatric population. After graduating, she returned to the South Bay area to practice. She has experience in pediatric early-intervention and rehabilitation, aquatic therapy, and has treated individuals with a wide variety of orthopedic conditions. She is currently pursuing her certification in Pilates to further her practice. In her spare time, Christina enjoys pilates, cooking, baking, and spending time with her friends and family, which includes wrangling her two adorable nephews. In addition to English, she also speaks Mandarin and Japanese fluently.
Kat Dayharsh, PT, DPT
Kat found her passion for physical therapy and helping people get back to living the life they want to live following a series of injuries that resulted in several years of physical therapy. PT gave Kat back her life when she couldn’t see how she’d ever be active and pain-free again. As a Bay Area native and a non-traditional student, she completed her BS in Kinesiology from San Jose State University, and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Pacific University. With a passion for learning and an endless curiosity, Kat combines evidence based practice and treating the whole person, not just one body part. Along the way she found her areas of special interest in physical therapy to include pelvic health, hypermobility spectrum disorders, and providing accessible and affirming care for neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ individuals. Kat has completed APTA’s level 1 pelvic health coursework, and has experience working with individuals assigned female at birth with urinary issues, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain. She plans to continue her pelvic coursework to further her ability to work with all types of pelvises. She completed her second year Capstone research on pelvic floor physical therapy after gender affirming surgery, her third year Capstone on hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and is eager to continue her research on her own time. When Kat is not working she enjoys spending time with her cats, family, and friends. Kat is a self-proclaimed nerd with a passion for fantasy and sci-fi, and also enjoys spending time with her horse and learning ballroom dancing.
Christine Wang PT, DPT
Born and raised in San Jose, Christine developed an interest in physical therapy in high school as a competitive dancer. She received her B.A. in Kinesiology at Rice University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University.
